On March 27, 1974, an important and misguided composer of folk song and bouzouki, Vasilis Karapatakis, died.

In March 1998, Fm Records released an extremely interesting CD titled “My past joys-13 folk songs by Vassilis Karapatakis”. Five remarkable singers of the younger generation, Lambros Karelas, Kostas Mantzios, Afendoula Razeli, Stella Chronaiou and Sofia Assychidou, who were died too soon, perform the songs.
